Badminthon tomorrow

Dear readers

The team will be playing in the State Team Badminthon tomorrow. This is a marathon session starting from 10 am till 10 pm.

The team will be experiencing what it will be like to play 2 teams in a day under tournament conditions.

The first team will be the Coach's Challenge team. I am not sure who is playing for the Coach's team. The players will play using the Under 17 tournament rules and format. That means there will be 4 singles for the boys and 4 singles for the girls. There will then be 2 boys and 2 girls doubles. The final game will be the 2 mixed doubles.

The day will be followed by talks on badminton rules before stopping for meals and further training.

The President's Team challenge will take place in the evening. As you all know, Bruce Napier is the new BAWA president. It will be interesting to see who will form his team.

Tomorrow will be a long day. I am sure the players are excited.

Here are some photos of the players after getting their state team jerseys.

Gavin Chung with his first State team jersey. Gavin is from Malaysia originally.

Bella Tong, our latest state player. She is from Guangxi, China.
Jasper Tan with his 2nd team jersey. His first in the Under 17s team

The players have been training hard.  Here's a video of what they have to endure.

If you are free, do turn up at Armadale to support the team. Night. Oh, by the way Kay has been cleared medically. Good on her.

Finally for the night, I have now created a Under 19s Badminton blog. Please see http://badmintonwaunder19s.blogspot.com.au/

Most of the Under 17s team will be progressing to the Under 19s competition. Have a look at the new blog. Night.
