Day 4, fighting for a medal position WA v Vic 2

Dear readers

Today will be a challenging day for the team. They have to beat Vic 2 to be able to be in a medal position on finals day.

WA usually have a close fight against Vic 2 and it is usually up to the mixed doubles to tip the winning scale.

It did not start well with Matthew and Jia Ding  losing the boys doubles. That was followed by Lily and Natasha losing their girls doubles in 2 sets..

It was up to Bernice and Joanna to get WA back on track. They did not waiver, bringing the match in with 2 sets.

That was followed by  Dawson and Timothy. They also won in 2 sets. That meant the teams were square.

Jia Ding then went to fight for WA and valiantly lost in 3 sets. That was followed by another loss by Radhika and Matthew. It was not looking good for WA.

Timothy came to the rescue with a 2 set win against F Zhao. It was then up to Joanne and Bernice to fight for WA's singles. Both did not disappoint. They must have kept every one excited and jumping with their 3 sets win each.

These girls are the team's backbone.

Dawson then came in and easily beat Geoffrey Yap in 2 sets. Dawson has improved so much.

That means the teams were square again.

The coach and manager must be feeling stressed.

Natasha and Kyle Yeo went in and could not beat L Gay and Jordan Yang. We were down by 1 match again.

Matthew and Lily then went in. They fought a tough 3 setter win against Starcia Han and F Zhao. What a great victory for Matthew and Lily.

WA was square again.

Timothy and Joanne then went in for the kill. They got their match in 2 easy sets.

It was now up to Dawson and Bernice to confirm the win or else we could be looking at the managers going through the matches to see whether we won on points.

Dawson and Bernice easily cleaned up and got WA to a 9-7 win. Good fight guys and girls.

Now there is a chance to get a medal home. They have to fight well again tomorrow when they play Territories for a bronze.
